Deann Armes

Deann Armes is a journalist, magazine editor, and business manager with an eye for unpolished beauty. This vision landed her in “untamed” Ogden where she relocated from Salt Lake in 2015 to seek new adventures with her kids. She loves to unearth the unseen in Utah’s lands, history, culture, people … and bring it to light through story. After a decade of freelance writing for local publications — Salt Lake City Weekly, Utah Stories, Indie Ogden, Standard-Examiner — Deann created her own digital publication The Ogdenite in 2020 to help Ogdenites and visitors find things to do and encourage more support for local businesses, artists, and musicians. She is currently Lead Editor for the Standard-Examiner’s new arts and culture weekly ACE Magazine, manager of The Bonneville workspace on Historic 25th Street, and marketing director for Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music. When not writing, Deann is out hiking, paddle boarding, or exploring Ogden’s Historic 25th Street and her old stomping grounds in Salt Lake for the best food, drinks, and stories.
